Curtis appoints Amy as Associate Dean of Piano Studies and Artistic Initiatives

Dear Friends,
I am honored to share the news that Curtis appointed me to the role of Associate Dean of Piano Studies and Artistic Initiatives at the start of the 2022-2023 school year. It has been transformational to serve our beloved musical home in this capacity, and to serve the vision of President Díaz by collaborating closely with Provost and Artistic Director Ed Gazouleas and Senior Associate Dean of Performance Studies Nick DiBerardino.

It has been awe-inspiring to witness the leadership of my colleagues, students, faculty, and staff build an atmosphere that prizes individual voice and collective beauty.
And, it is utterly enlivening to dive into the work of the piano department by joining forces with its wonderful faculty (Yefim Bronfman, Michelle Cann, Robert McDonald, Meng-Chieh Liu and Ignat Solzhenitsyn) in shaping the students’ educational experience. I look forward to sharing the work of our incredible students in the department and beyond. Their artistry is electrifying to behold! I am so grateful to work where the lingua franca of music is spoken passionately, for all to perceive and savor.
